Orchid: Skin Perks

Orchid oil is packed with magnesium, calcium, and zinc, three minerals essential to your skin’s health. These minerals boost hydration, even skin tone, improve collagen health, and help skin cells regenerate.

Orchid also contains mucilages, plant-based jellies that hydrate the skin’s deepest layers. According to Cassola and colleagues, mucilage helps moisture bind to the skin and improves the skin’s ability to absorb moisture.

Also, mucilage acts like hyaluronic acid, keeping the skin hydrated longer. Better yet, mucilage improves the skin’s ability to absorb nutrients from other skincare products, making them more effective.

The result? Skin glows with new life.

But orchid’s minerals offer other perks, too. For instance, zinc speeds healing time and wards off breakouts, and calcium strengthens the skin’s barrier. Plus, orchid oil is lightweight, so it won’t clog pores.

  1. I heard the Clarins stuff is good but haven’t heard about the rest of them. Clarins is one of my fave brands tho. Good stuff :–)

    1. Yes, Clarins has great everything! I love their orchid oil, peeling mask, and self-tanner most. Their tanner is one of the few I’ve tried that is easy to blend and doesn’t streak.

    1. It is like dessert! I like blending it with Patrick Ta’s bronze glow body oil, too. Ta’s oil has a dash of shimmer to it, and it pairs nicely with the vanilla oil.
